LEICESTER Analytics done properly

GA4 setup.
Done right, in Leicester.

Most GA4 setups are a tag dropped on the site and forgotten. That is how you end up with double-counted traffic, missing conversions, and a consent banner that quietly breaks your data. We set GA4 up properly for Leicester businesses: installed once through Google Tag Manager, Consent Mode v2 so you stay compliant, and every key event wired to the enquiries that actually pay the bills. Want the full how-to first? Read our GA4 setup guide for UK websites.

GA4/01

Installed once, done rightOne method, through Google Tag Manager, no double-counting

The most common GA4 problem we see in Leicester is the tag installed twice, a plugin plus a hardcoded Google tag, so every visit is counted twice and none of the numbers can be trusted. We audit what is already there, install cleanly through Google Tag Manager, set your UK time zone and GBP currency on day one, and remove anything firing in duplicate.

  • GA4 property & data stream
  • Google Tag Manager install
  • Duplicate-tag audit & cleanup
  • UK time zone & GBP currency
  • Cross-domain setup if needed
  • Debug & live verification
GA4/03

Events & conversions wired to enquiriesTrack the things that make you money, not just pageviews

Pageviews do not pay the bills. We mark the events that matter, form submissions, calls, quote requests, bookings, as key events, so GA4 tells you where your actual enquiries come from. It ties straight into the wider measurement stack we build, so paid, organic and everything else are judged on the same evidence.

  • Key event & conversion mapping
  • Form, call & click tracking
  • Google Ads conversion import
  • Enhanced conversions
  • Channel & campaign attribution
  • Spam & internal traffic filtering

Configured for decisions, then handed overSet up so the data is usable, and so you own it

A GA4 property is only useful if it is configured and someone can read it. We link Search Console and Google Ads, extend data retention to 14 months, filter your own visits out, and set up the reports you will actually look at. Then we hand it over with a short walkthrough, or fold the reporting into a monthly engagement if you would rather we ran it. Either way you own the account.

  • Search Console & Ads linking
  • 14-month data retention
  • Internal-traffic filter
  • Reports & dashboards you will use
  • Walkthrough & documentation
  • Optional ongoing reporting

Asked &
answered

The GA4 questions Leicester business owners actually ask, answered straight.

Do you set up GA4 for Leicester businesses?+
Yes. We are a Leicester marketing studio and we set up Google Analytics 4 for local businesses, in person or remotely. You get a clean, consent-compliant install wired to the enquiries that actually matter, not just a tag dropped on the site.
Do I need Consent Mode v2 in the UK?+
In practice, yes. UK sites must get consent before non-essential analytics cookies fire under PECR, and Google has required Consent Mode v2 for UK and EEA traffic since March 2024. Without it, your GA4 and Google Ads data from visitors who are asked for consent is incomplete. We wire it in as standard.
How long does a GA4 setup take?+
A standard setup is usually done within a few working days: property and data stream, Google Tag Manager install, Consent Mode v2, key events, internal-traffic filtering, and the Search Console and Ads links. More complex sites with ecommerce or bespoke events take a little longer, and we scope that up front.
Is GA4 setup a one-off or ongoing?+
The install is a one-off project. What you do with the data is the ongoing part. We can hand it over with a short walkthrough so your team runs it, or fold the reporting into a monthly engagement so the numbers turn into decisions rather than sitting in a dashboard.
Why does my GA4 double-count traffic?+
Almost always because the tag is installed twice, for example a plugin plus a hardcoded Google tag, so every visit fires two events. We audit for this, pick one install method, and remove the rest, so your numbers are trustworthy from day one.
